Church Graveyard
The people of Donaghadee have long had an affinity with the sea; many of them depended on it for their livelihoods and many Ulster-Scots sailed to Donaghadee from their homes in Scotland. We find seafaring merchants, fishermen and even deep-sea divers in the churchyard here. The earliest dated gravestones to be found are from the 17th century and bear the Scottish surnames of the first Ulster-Scots settlers.
