Mellon Homestead Exterior
This is the original homestead of Judge Thomas Andrew Mellon, the banking and industrial magnate of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who at the age of five sailed to America with his parents in 1818. He went on to found a vast industrial and commercial empire in the United States during the 19th century.
The Mellons were descended from Archibald Mellon and his wife Elizabeth, lowland Scottish Presbyterians who arrived in Ulster in 1660 to settle on this Omagh farm.
