Belfast’s maritime heritage stretches back centuries; and the success of the Port of Belfast is testament to the ingenuity and enterprise of numerous individuals, many of whom were of Ulster-Scots pedigree.

In recent years, the area around Belfast’s historic docks and along the River Lagan has been transformed.  Belfast’s Titanic Quarter is now the most popular area of the city for visitors with numerous tourist attractions that reflect the city’s maritime heritage.
